    Social life and family relationship are one of the most important values of Saudi society. This is why the Saudis are naturally very hospitable people to the extent that personal honor depends on a guestʼs pleasure.

    You will notice that Saudiʼs spend a lot of time when meeting greeting each other. This often includes handshakes, smiles and a traditional kiss on the cheek.

    Dress Code: Islam encourages men and women to dress conservatively. These days you will findpeopleeitherwearing local or ʻwesternʼ type clothing. Itʼs important to know that respecting local standards goes a long way to building relationships with Saudis and Muslims in general.

    In public, men are expected to wear at least long shorts and a t-shirt. Women usually wear a traditional ʻabayaʼ, a long light weight cloak that is worn over normal blouses and skirts. These are easily obtained from the local shops.
